PRO 12 25-9-16

FRIDAY

TREVISO 27-11 DRAGONS

PAULO WIN SECURES BIG WIN OVER DRAGONS

A Tommaso Allan penalty was followed by centre Tommaso Benvenuti going under the posts, fly-half Allan converting.
Rynard Landman struck back for the Dragons and Angus O'Brien added a penalty, but the Welsh side lost their try-scorer at the break.
Filo Paulo and Marco Fuser crossed for the Italians after the break.
The hosts thwarted centre Adam Warren's early break, and then went ahead as Allan kicked the game's opening points.
This to me was a surprise not so much that Treviso won the match but by how much and I think that Treviso could do OK this season. Treviso could knock down a lot of teams expecting to go there and win.
GLASGOW 17-22 ULSTER

CAVE TRY SECURES WIN FOR ULSTER

A first half which saw four players depart injured, two Ulster tries disallowed and two yellow cards ended with the visitors leading 15-7.
Darren Cave finished a flowing move but Gordon Reid dived over for Glasgow.
A controversial penalty try extended Ulster's lead but Tommy Seymour's score saw Glasgow nudge ahead before the hour but Paddy Jackson's try prove decisive.

Ulster should have had a bonus point on Friday as a Paddy Jackson try was disallowed but they are showing the type of form that tells me this could be a good season for them.  Glasgow are one of the better teams in the4 leaguer and will be near the top

LEINSTER 31-19 OSPREYS

DOUBLE VAN DER FLAIR GIVES LEINSTER BONUS POINT

Josh van der Flier bagged two tries as Leinster secured a bonus-point victory against the Ospreys at the RDS.
The flanker started the try-scoring and Leinster was awarded a penalty try before Johnny Sexton touched down in his first appearance of the season.
Leinster led 24-0 at the break and Van der Flier secured the bonus point before three Ospreys tries.
Ben John, Dafydd Howells and James King went over as the Welsh visitors slipped to their first defeat of the campaign.
Leinster showed why they are the best team in the league with this win against the team on top of the table. Ospreys have shown potential in the early stages but this is why Leinster is in quarter finals regularly
SATURDAY

SCARLETS 17-8 CONNACHT

WILLIAMS DOUBLE PUTS CONNACHT IN REAL TROUBLE

Liam Williams scored two tries as Scarlets earned their first Pro12 win of 2016-17 to leave title-holders Connacht winless at the bottom.
Wings Niyi Adeolokun and Williams exchanged memorable first-half tries with Jack Carty's penalty edging the opening period for the visitors.
Williams' second and Rhys Patchell's snap drop-goal after the break gave the hosts a deserved win
.

Connacht have not shown themselves to be the team that they were last season as they are in a bad rut at the moment and must sort out the problems that they have had for many years.

ZEBRE 21-23 BLUES

JAMES TRY GIVES BLUES WIN BUT BLUES NOT ON TOP OF TABLE

Carlo Canna and Steven Shingler exchanged early penalties before hosts' Guglielmo Palazzani's close-range effort.
Wing Blaine Scully's try put Blues ahead before Matthew Morgan and Tom James helped give them a cushion.
But tries by Zebre's Giulio Bisegni and Giovanbattista Venditti jangled Blues' nerves as the final whistle loomed.

The Blues are showing that they can win when they have to as for Zebre they similar to Treviso look like they will not be on the bottom of the table and struggling as both the Italian sides are definitely improving.
MUNSTER 28-14 EDINBURGH

DOUBLE MURRAY TRY GIVES MUNSTER BONUS POINT

Chris Dean's breakaway try helped Edinburgh lead 7-0 as their breakdown work countered Munster's scrum success.
But two Conor Murray tries before half-time helped Munster lead 14-7 as the dam finally burst on Edinburgh's scrum.
Conor Oliver and Dave O'Callaghan added further tries before John Hardie's reply for the visitors.
Hardie's 67th-minute try led to a few late Munster nerves as Edinburgh - who had always looked fluent in open play - produced a brave rally before the home side held on.

Munster are showing that they can be the force that they used to be a few years ago in European rugby but this is definitely a big win for them and they can only get better with such young coaches and players on their team.
