AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 10-11-14

IRELAND 29-15  SOUTH AFRICA

RUDDOCK AND BOWE EXCITE THE IRISH FANS

Ireland pulled of a surprise win in my opinion against South Africa especially as South Africa was near full strength and Ireland were playing a weakened team. This does say to me that Ireland can be ready for anything next year.
Johnny Sexton started by scoring 2 penalties to give Ireland a 6-0 lead. Young Irish centre Robbie Henshaw's superb kick had forced Le Roux to concede a line-out deep in Springboks territory and Ruddock burst through to score after Devin Toner had soared to win Sean Cronin's throw try just after half time. Connor Murray hit the perfect chip to give Tommy Bowe a try and 2 Johnny Sexton penalties gave Ireland the win. Before JP Pietersen's late score which put some gloss on the score sheet.

WALES 28-33 AUSTRALIA

WHAT A FIRST HALF BUT FOLEY GIVES AUSTRALIA THE WIN

Australia defeated Wales for the 10th successive time on Saturday. This was one of the greatest first half’s of rugby that I have ever seen at 21 a piece I thought that the second half would be similar to the first but it was much tighter in the second half.
Wales scrum-half Webb also proved predictable, continuing a habit he has become renowned for by dummying his way over for the first of six first-half tries, converted by Leigh Halfpenny.
He could not be held responsible when visiting skipper Michael Hooper burst through Dan Biggar's tackle to send Folau over, Foley converting to level.
But Webb's long pass, intended to send Liam Williams over, was instead intercepted by Folau who raced 70 metres untouched and Foley added the extras.
George North showed his try-making qualities from centre by breaking free before putting Alex Cuthbert away and Halfpenny converted.

Northampton's North was also involved in the next try as he and lock Alun Wyn Jones were brushed aside in Tevita Kuridrani's run to the line. Foley again converted.
As Leigh Halfpenny went off wales could not score the chances they were given ho important they might be in the end.
Skipper Sam Warburton spearheaded a series of drives before lock Jones drove over.  Dan Bigger scored the conversion Half time 21-21
A Wales penalty try put them back in control.
Serious disappointment for Wales as The visitors retained control and Foley fired over the final penalty to seal victory.

ENGLAND V21-24 NEW ZEALAND

FAUMINA SCORES VITAL TRY FOR ALL BLACK AS ENGLAND PUT FEAR INTO THEM
You can learn when you play any team but when you lose by only 3 points to the best team in the world you know that there is a lot you can learn from the match and take forward with you to the next match.
England came charging out the blocks and looked to take on Steve Hansen's side in attack. After only three minutes, wing Jonny May was released and his blistering turn of pace left Israel Dagg and Conrad Smith in his wake as he dotted down for the opening score.
Owen Farrell missed the conversion but England was in the ascendancy early on and could have had a second try shortly after if Mike Brown had clung on to a long Kyle Eastmond pass.
But despite England's fast start, New Zealand was clinical and after executing a number of passes under pressure, fly half Aaron Cruden stretched out to score. He could not add the conversion; put the world champions had responded.
England then lost influential second row Courtney Lawes to injury around the 20-minute mark, with young Saracens lock George Kruis coming on to make his debut. Farrell added three penalties and Cruden two before the break to leave England 14-11 up at half-time.
Hooker Dane Coles departed to the sin bin for kicking out in a ruck but the hosts were unable to translate their personnel advantage into points. Instead, New Zealand won the sin-bin period 3-0, with replacement fly-half Beauden Barrett putting the visitors 19-14 up.
New Zealand's pressure was a relentless as the rain driving down on Twickenham as their bench added fresh impetus. The deciding score came with ten minutes remaining as Faumuina crashed over following a multi-phase attack.

SCOTLAND 41-31 ARGENTINA

GREY BROTHERS  GIVE SCOTLAND A SHOCK RESULT

I am not sure whether this result meant that Scotland are improving a lot or that Argentina are in decline in a big way but this was a massive win for Scotland.  Winning by so much must help them be able to develop.
Javier Ortega Desio touched down for Argentina after just two minutes. However, Scotland soon found their rhythm, with the Grays and Sean Maitland replying before the interval. Stuart Hogg and Tommy Seymour ran in further scores in a scruffy second half, while a Tomas Cubelli brace added to a penalty try for the Pumas.
The Scots were moving the ball well from the first whistle but when Greig Laidlaw was pole-axed in the midfield the ball spilled loose for Desio to collect and gallop clear from 40 metres and touch A clean lineout gave the Scots an attacking platform in the Argentine 22 and, after some good carries from Blair Cowan among others, Richie Gray burst through the stretched defence to crash over. A Nicolas Sanchez penalty nudged the visitors back in front while Laidlaw missed a routine kick following his earlier conversion.
A yellow card for Juan Imhoff was quickly exploited by the hosts after several phases of pressure resulted in Jonny Gray following his brother over the line. Laidlaw added the extras to make it 14-10. The captain then set up Scotland's third try with the scrum-half catching the Pumas defence sleeping with a quick tap penalty and, after making 30 metres, showed great composure to float a pass to Maitland who coasted over.
The skipper broke through the Argentine defence once again early in the second half and kept his cool to find the pass that sent Hogg over in the corner. Full of confidence, Laidlaw nailed the touchline conversion and added another three points with the boot just after the hour.
Any thoughts of a comeback were extinguished almost immediately when Seymour intercepted a risky pass from Juan Martin Hernandez to run in an easy try, with Laidlaw's conversion taking the score to 41-17
