EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS CUP
POOL 1
MUNSTER 9-16 CLERMONT AUVERGNE
MUNSTER LOOSE UNBEATEN RUN AGAINST FRENCH SIDES
Clermont scored an early try from a line out and push to the line from Lee. Munster then came back with a penalty from Ian Keatley. Fofana ran beyond the Munster defenders after a perfect
straight line run. Munster then hit back with another penalty from Ian Keatley. Clermont then kicked a drop goal from Lopez as Munster allowed
them to have the space. Munster came back with another kick from Ian Keatley. Munster were able to go away from this with an away bonus
point but will find it difficult in France next week
The other game in the pool was an all English game between
Sale and Saracens.
ALL ENGLISH TIE DOOMS SALE
Sales' hopes of reaching the quarter final of the Champion’s Cup virtually ended as they lost this home match. A good Sale try by Lund from a maul gave Sale a good start to the match.
Charlie Head ran a lot of meters with a quality run and
passes to Owen Farrell who scored a try for Saracens. Ciprini then scored a penalty. Next, Saracens scored a try from a maul scored by Vinipola.
Sale scored a quality team try from a good set piece with Owen Farell scoring a drop goal at the end.
HARLEQUINS 24-18 LEINSTER
QUINS SHOW THAT THEY STILL HAVE GOT ENOUGH TO BE AT TOP
TABLE
At the start of the game there were a few penalties as at half time it was 12-9 to Harlequins. A great set move gave Easter a try for Quins. Tikoirotuma then took the ball between Leinster passes and ran nearly the whole pitch for a Harlequins' try.
Leinster scored a penalty before Danny Care scored an amazing drop goal, considering the fact that the ball could have just as well gone under it as over it.
Castre were not doing that well as they were at the bottom
of the top 14 in France. From the start of the match, Wasps had control from a perfect
kick that Miler got onto. Bonello scores a good Castre try from a set play and the
passing did the damage. Hughes scored an incredible try as he had to take on 3
defenders to get to the corner. Wasps then got a penalty try. Tigicakibau gave Wasps the bonus point which gives them a
chance in the group.
POOL 4
Tolouse scored an early penalty and Russel hit straight back for Glasgow. Toulouse then started the second half with the perfect try with a kick into the corner scored by Medard. Next, Bezy scored a penalty for Toulouse but Glasgow then got a penalty back. Matawalu scored a try for Glasgow but the game point was all about the coversion for Glasgow for the bonus point which they missed.
BATH KEEP FAINT EURO HOPES ALIVE
There did not seem to be the strength in Montpellier as Bath
led by 9 points. A great try from a maul scored by Ben Thomas gave Bath hope
and they then got a penalty try. Leroy Houston dived
over in the corner after Kyle Eastmond had burst through the home defence
following an intelligent dummy from the excellent Ford and an offload from the
impressive Thomas. Bath could not make more of the advantage that they had and,
with every point counting, you would wonder what their hopes are.
Monpellier then scored a try from a line out and scrum
scored by Tolou.
POOL 5
BAD DAY FOR JOHNNY
Early penalties left Ospreys with a 6-3 lead. Van Der Merwe scored a try from a set move. Matevisi then scored a try for the Ospreys from a good set move to even the score. Dan Bigger had some incredible shooting boots on him. Ospreys would take a draw from this day's worth of rugby
as Racing are a super-rich club.
TREVISO 15- 38 NORTHAMPTON
Manoa scored an early try from a scrum. Quality rolling maul gave Northampton a second try from
Waller. Foden scored a try from a good set piece. Clarence passed to Farell for the bonus point. Treviso got one back from a good set play scored by Nitoglia.
Burell scored a Northampton try.
Joe Carlisle ran the entire pitch for a second Treviso try.
POOL 3
LEICESTER 25-21 TOULON
EVERYONE NOW HAS HOPE IN POOL 3
Leicester started with a couple of penalties (Owen Williams). Brad Thorn then scored a try from a handling error. Sanchez scored a penalty for Toloun. Brian Habana ran the entire pitch to score a try for Toulon. Another penalty from Williams for Leicester. A great move from Dean Michill as the back came to him from
a great move and there was no Leicester player there. Leicester got the lead with a penalty. Next, Owen Williams scored a penalty from inside his own half. Owen Williams scored 7 kicks with an impressive performance
