rwc 2015 final teams and predictions 30-10-15

SOUTH AFRICA V ARGENTENA

Here are the teams for the third place play off in the rugby world cup

South Africa: 15 Willie le Roux, 14 JP Pietersen, 13 Jesse Kriel, 12 Damian de Allende, 11 Bryan Habana, 10 Handre Pollard, 9 Ruan Pienaar; 1 Tendai Mtawarira, 2 Bismarck du Plessis, 3 Frans Malherbe, 4 Eben Etzebeth, 5 Victor Matfield (c), 6 Francois Louw, 7 Schalk Burger, 8 Duane Vermeulen.

Replacements: 16 Adriaan Strauss, 17 Trevor Nyakane, 18 Jannie du Plessis, 19 Lodewyk de Jager, 20 Willem Alberts, 21 Rudy Paige, 22 Pat Lambie, 23 Jan Serfontein.

Argentina: 15 Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino, 14 Santiago Cordero, 13 Matias Moroni, 12 Jeronimo de la Fuente, 11 Horacio Agulla, 10 Nicolas Sanchez (c), 9 Tomas Cubelli; 1 Marcos Ayerza, 2 Julian Montoya, 3 Ramiro Herrera, 4 Matias Alemanno, 5 Tomas Lavanini, 6 Javier Ortega Desio, 7 Juan Fernandez Lobbe, 8 Juan Manuel Leguizamon.

Replacements: 16 Lucas Noguera, 17 Juan Pablo Orlandi, 18 Juan Figallo, 19 Guido Petti, 20 Facundo Isa, 21 Martin Landajo, 22 Santiago Gonzalez Iglesias, 23 Juan Pablo Socino.

I feel that this game will be very close and depend more on who is up for it and I cannot see Argentina not be up for it but I can see South Africa. I think that Argentina will win this match but not by more than seven. Sanchez and Pollard in my opinion will score the point in a game of few tries. The people who will change the game are Du Plessis for South Africa and Fernandez Lobe for Argentina

AUSTRILIA V NEW ZEALAND

Here are the teams for the rugby world cup final 2015

New Zealand: Ben Smith; Nehe Milner-Skudder, Conrad Smith, Ma'a Nonu, Julian Savea; Dan Carter, Aaron Smith; Joe Moody, Dane Coles, Owen Franks, Brodie Retallick, Sam Whitelock, Jerome Kaino, Richie McCaw, Kieran Read.

Replacements: Keven Mealamu, Ben Franks, Charlie Faumuina, Victor Vito, Sam Cane, Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Beauden Barrett, Sonny Bill Williams.

Australia: Israel Folau; Adam Ashley-Cooper, Tevita Kuridrani, Matt Giteau, Drew Mitchell; Bernard Foley, Will Genia; Scott Sio, Stephen Moore (captain), Sekope Kepu, Kane Douglas, Rob Simmons, Scott Fardy, Michael Hooper, David Pocock.

Replacements: Tatafu Polota-Nau, James Slipper, Greg Holmes, Dean Mumm, Ben McCalman, Nick Phipps, Matt Toomua, Kurtley Beale.

New Zealand have got a way of playing that makes them very hard to beat at times are very difficult to beat but Australia have beaten them this year. Another thing that has to be looked at is the fact of the closeness of the quarter final against Wales and playing against a team who preferred to kick than to go for tries. With the emergence of players like Miner Skudder coming through and if he is able to take control this could be a walkover. Drew Mitchell is looking to score the most tries in the competitions history and he can change the game just as easily.

AUSTRILIA V ARGENTENA 25-10-15

AUSTRILIA 29-15 ARGENTENA

ASHLEY COOPER PROVES IT’S NOT A DREAM

Argentina has the ball and Symons runs in a simple try on 2 minutes. Foley converts. Sanchez scores penalty for Argentina on 7 minutes. Ball from scrum a couple of passes to Adam Ashley-Cooper who puts it in at the corner on 9 minutes. Foley converts. In my opinion Ireland could have made a match against this Argentina team they might have even beaten this this was not the same side that played Ireland. Australia had beaten New Zealand in recent times so they won’t fear them

NEW ZEALAND V SOUTH AFRICA SAT 24-10-15

SOUTH AFRICA 18-20 NEW ZEALAND

DAN CARTER BECOMES TWICENHAM LEGEND

Pollard scores penalty for South Africa on 3 minutes. Ball from scrum/ maul and Mc Caul passes to Kano who puts it in the corner 6 minutes. Carter coverts. Pollard scores penalty on 10 minutes and on 20 minutes and on 34 minutes. Half time South Africa 12-7 New Zealand.

Ne4w Zealand rip the ball out of South African hands and show that the ball is out before pushing it wide to Barrett in the corner carter concerts 0n 50 minutes. Pollard scores penalty on 57. Carter scores penalty on 59. Due to this he has scored more points at Twickenham than any other foreigner he had also scored more points than any other all black. Pollard scores penalty on 68 minutes.

New Zealand looks like the best team in the world at the moment and would be my favourites for the final. I would be very surprised if they lost.

world cup semis teams and predictioms 23/10/15

NEW ZEALAND V SOUTH AFRICA

New Zealand head coach Steve Hansen has made one enforced change for Saturday's Rugby World Cup semi-final against South Africa at Twickenham.

As expected, prop Wyatt Crockett misses out due to a groin injury suffered during last weekend's quarter-final victory over France.

Joe Moody replaces Crockett, with Ben Franks moving on to the bench

New Zealand XV: B Smith; N Milner-Skudder, C Smith, M Nonu, J Savea; D Carter, A Smith; J Moody, D Coles, O Franks, B Retallick, S Whitelock, J Kaino, R McCaw (capt), K Read.

Replacements: K Mealamu, B Franks, C Faumuina, V Vito, S Crane, T Kerr-Barlow, B Barrett, S B Williams.

South Africa XV: W Le Roux, JP Pietersen, J Kriel, D de Allende, B Habana, H Pollard, F du Preez (capt), T Mtawarira, B du Plessis, F Malherbe, E Etzebeth, L d Jager, F Louw, S Burger, D Vermeulen.

Replacements: A Strauss, T Nyankane, J du Plessis, V Matfield, W Alberts, R Pienaar, P Lambie, J Serfontein.

Ii think that New Zealand will win this but by less than 7 and I think there will be at least 6 tries in this match. I cannot see this being a defensive match. I think that the fact that New Zealand had lost games earlier in the year can only help them and that grit is what will put them over the line

AUSTRILIA V ARGENTENA

Argentina showed against Ireland that they are definitely an improving side but they are not on the same level as Australia yet so I think that Australia will win this match by between 14 and 20 points but the way Argentina beat Ireland I would not be completely shocked if they won.

18-10-15 rugby world cup sundy

IRELAND 20-43 ARGENTENA

THIS IS AN IRELAND TEAM WITHOUT A LEADER

There seems to be nothing going on until Cobolo catches and gets a couple of passes out wide to Moroni to score the try. Sanchez con 2 minutes. Imhoff gets the ball from a quality kick from Sanchez. Sanchez con 9 minutes Tommy Bowe then injured Sanchez scores penalty on 12 and Madagan scores penalty on 19 minutes Sanchez scores penalty on 21. Luke Fitzgerald finds a way down the wing to get into a one on one situation and scores try on 26.Madagan con. Half time Ireland 10-20 Argentina.

Luke Fitzgerald breaks the line and pass to Geordie murphy for the try 44 minutes. Madagan scores penalty on 52. Sanchez then scores a penalty for Argentina and is top scorer in the world cup. Argentina then move the ball wide from the scrum and Tuculet puts it in the corner but the ref is unsure but when it is looked at by the video ref you know that he scored. Sanchez con on 70 minutes Hernandez lobe passes to Imhoff who beats 2 defenders to score a simple try Sanchez Converts. Sanchez scores pen on 77 minutes

Good young Argentina side that will be feared in the future

Defined by important players going off the team like O Connell,  Payne getting early injuries  having to retire they may be mentally not right as Sexton was a main player Bowe getting injured during the match Kearney getting injures Important players getting injured. Maybe they picked the wrong man to be captain as I thought it should be Rory Best.

Maybe there is a type of bad luck over Ireland in the world cup. Ireland might now have to

I don’t know if Ireland have the players coming through to replace the likes of Paul O Connel and Brian O Driscol and maybe that is an issue also. I  was hurt and angered by the manor of defeat rather than just the fact that Ireland lost. And the fact that there were so many Irish there should have given them the start or the lift that they needed at certain times it did not.

My problem is that you have to wait 4 more years

SCOTLAND 34-35 AUSTRILIA

IS SCOTLAND THE BEST TEAM IN EUROPE?

Ball comes out of scrum and one pass to Adam Ashley Cooper who finds it easy to score the try 8 minutes. Laidlaw scores penalty on 13. Horne kicks and catches the ball and in a simple bunch of mauls and Horne runs in a simple try Laidlaw con 18 minutes. Laidlaw scores penalty on 21 minute. Good set up and a quality long pass to Mitchell who puts it down in the corner. Simple team y. Laidlaw pen 33 minutes. Australia score a try just before half time ball from line out and a rolling maul Hooper has it in the back of the scrum and scores the try on 39 Half time Australia 15-16 Scotland

Ball comes from the scrum to Drew Mitchell who puts it down in the corner. Foley con n43 minutes. Laidlaw scores penalty on 46 minutes. Australia denied try on 48. Foley scores pen for Australia on 53 minutes. Russell charges down an Austrilian kick and passes to Semour who scores in the corner . Australia nick Scotland’s lineout. They maul get the ball out maul again and Kuirbran powers over the Scotland defence to score the try Foley con 64. Laidlaw penalty on 69. Australia have the ball in their own attack and Bennett nicks the ball by licking and is able to run it down for the try. Laidlaw con. Foley scores penalty on 79 for Austrilia

Drew Mitchell 2 tries off record of tries at the world cup. 1 behind Brian Habana and Jonah Lomu.

Are the teams in the 4 nations improving at a higher level than the Europeans I think so and I think that there have to be questions asked of the European structure and whether it needs to change as this is only going to get worse.

If I was Scottish I would have a lot of emotions after this match first disappointment then anger then satisfaction as I know my county is improving as we finished fifth in the six nations in March

17-10-15 RUGBY WORLD CUP saturday

SOUTH AFRICA 23-19 WALES

DU PRIS KNOCKS WALES OUT OF WORLD CUP WITH END SHOT

Pollarrd scores penalty on the  touchline on 8 minutes and a quality long range kick on 12. Biggar scores simple penalty on 14 minutes. Pollard scores quality long range kick on 16. Biggar catches the ball from own kick and gets the ball into simple mauls and Davies gets on the end to score the try 18 minutes. Biggar con. Pollard scores pen on 2o minutes Bigger scores drop goal on 40 minutes. Half time Wales 13-12 South Africa

Biggar scores penalty on 47 minutes. Pollard scores a drop goal on 51. Pollard scores a difficult penalty on the wing on 61 from the wing. Biggar scores penalty on 63. Ball from scrum and passs into the corner by Du Pris

Wales were a hard team with a few hard matches maybe that was their issue as they had to play England and Australia in the pool stages

NEW ZEALAND 62-13 FRANCE

ALL BLACKS AND SAVEA JUST LOOK AWSOME

Dan Carter scores New Zealand penalty on 7 minutes. Mishalak scores France penalty on 8 minutes. France have the ball and kick but the ball is charged down by Retallack who runs in a simple try. Carter con 10 minutes. Parra Pen 14 minutes. A couple of passes puts Noun in and he is able to dummy three defenders to score New Zealand’s second try in a central position. Carter con 24 minutes. Brilliant offload from Dan Carter to Savea where he puts it in the corner on 29 minutes. Pickomol scores a try for the French but it did look like a Knock on earlier in the move Parra scores conversion 37 minutes. Move started with a top class kick and catch from New Zealand they move it out wide for Savea to score the try down the wing Half time . New Zealand 29-13 France

Drive into the French defender and New Zealand move the ball from one side of the pitch to the other and Kano puts it in the corner. New Zealand take the ball off the French and a couple of passes down the wing Savea hat trick. Good move and offload to Reid and a very simple try Carter con. 2 of the best offloads I have seen with no other options and Kerr Barlow score the try. Carter con. Kerr-Barlow scores another good team try.

New Zealand just outclassed the French in every single way and this should mean that the French look at the issues that they have with their national team rather than focusing on the league.

rugby world cup quarter final teams and predictions 16-10-15

WALES V SOUTH AFRICA

Ospreys' Lydiate returns after suffering an eye socket injury that required a plate to be inserted while Jenkins was rested against the Wallabies.

Gatland said moving captain Sam Warburton to blind-side flanker against the Wallabies in Lydiate's absence was a "compromise".

Lock Bradley Davies is on the bench after recovering from a broken nose, with prop Aaron Jarvis and back rower Ross Moriarty dropping out of the match squad.

Wales team

Backs: Gareth Anscombe (Cardiff Blues), Alex Cuthbert (Cardiff Blues), Tyler Morgan (Newport Gwent Dragons), Jamie Roberts (Harlequins), George North (Northampton Saints); Dan Biggar (Ospreys), Gareth Davies (Scarlets).

Forwards: Gethin Jenkins (Cardiff Blues), Scott Baldwin (Ospreys), Samson Lee (Scarlets), Luke Charteris (Racing 92), Alun Wyn Jones (Ospreys), Dan Lydiate (Ospreys), Sam Warburton (Cardiff Blues, capt), Taulupe Faletau (Newport Gwent Dragons).

Replacements: Ken Owens (Scarlets), Paul James (Ospreys), Tomas Francis (Exeter Chiefs), Bradley Davies (Wasps), Justin Tipuric (Ospreys), Lloyd Williams (Cardiff Blues), Rhys Priestland (Bath Rugby), James Hook (Gloucester Rugby).

South Africa

15 Willie Le Reux, 14 JP Peterson,13  Jessie Kriel, 12 Daniel De Allende, 11 Brian Habana, 10 Handre Pollard 9 Fourie de Preez, 1 Tendai Mtawarira 2 Bismarck du Plessis, 3 Frans Malherbe, 4 Eben Etzebeth 5 Lood de Jager 6 Francois Louw7 Schalk Burger 8 Duane Vermeulen

I feel that South Africa will have too much but the game will not be won until the fourth quarter

NEW ZEALAND V FRANCE

New Zealand

1. Wyatt Crockett,  2. Dane Coles, 3. Owen Franks, 4. Brodie Retallick,   5. Sam Whitelock,  6. Jerome Kaino 7. Richie McCaw (captain) 8. Kieran Read 9. Aaron Smith 10. Daniel Carter 11. Julian Savea 12. Ma'a Nonu13Conrad Smith 14. Nehe Milner-Skudder 15. Ben Smith

Replacements:

16. Keven Mealamu,17. Joe Moody, 18. Charlie Faumuina, 19. Victor Vito, 20. Sam Cane, 21. Tawera Kerr-Barlow, 22. Beauden Barrett, 23. Sonny Bill Williams

France team v New Zealand, Saturday 8pm, Cardiff

Scott Spedding; Noa Nakaitaci, Alexandre Dumoulin, Wesley Fofana, Brice Dulin; Frédéric Michalak, Morgan Parra; Eddy Ben Arous, Guilhem Guirado, Rabah Slimani, Pascal Papé, Yoann Maestri, Thierry Dusautoir (capt), Bernard Le Roux, Louis Picamoles

Replacements Dimitri Szarzewski, Vincent Debaty, Nicolas Mas, Damien Chouly, Yannick Nyanga, Rory Kockott, Rémi Talès, Mathieu Bastareaud

If there was ever a match that I wanted in the draw for the world cup this is it and why because France have got a habit of rising to occasions when no one knows how they do it. I think that this could be New Zeeland downfall but this match depends on how France plays. I do not think that New Zealand will give away the easy long distance penalties that Ireland did and that will be the difference. I would question why Bastareaud for France and Sonny Bill Williams are on the benches

IRELAND V ARGENTENA

Five times in total – in 1987, 1991, 1995, 2003 and 2011 – the men in green have fallen at the quarter-final stage of the Rugby World Cup. This is a stat that makes me think. I feel that Ireland have both the brain and the team to beat Argentina but there are some odd things in sport and if this game goes down to the bounce of a ball I would be very surprised if it went Irelands way

AUSTRILIA V SCOTLAND

I feel that Australia is on a different level than Scotland. I think that this match should be quite comfortable for them. I feel that for Scotland to win a lot of stuff has to go for them and against Australia but if Scotland can get in control early they have a chance.. With players like Matt Giteau and Matt Horne Australia have a very good side? Scotland relies a lot on players from Glasgow and in a match like this that could be their downfall as the Super 12s is a lot better quality than the pro 12

Paul O Conell a history

PAUL O CONNELL

For me and the way that I see rugby,Paul O Connell is defined by being 'Mr Munster'. This is more to do with having to go to France and winning matches that no one saw coming in France against teams like Toulouse and Biarritz especially in the Heineken cup finals. He was instrumental in the victories over  Castre and Leister in years gone by.  During his playing years with Munster he was involved in many semi finals and finals of the Heinken cup.

For me his Ireland career was defined b by winning the grand slam in 2009, the win over Australia in the world cup in 2011 and when they almost beat New Zealand in 2013 . The first time that we saw that something was coming was in 2004 when they won the Triple Crown but us being Irish we were never that sure but when they retained the 6 nations after losing Brian O Driscol that is when we thought we had a team

To captain the British Lions was his biggest  honour and he was able to play on a winning tour the Lions.

Paul was a leader from as early as I can remember seeing him play.  He was a defining player in the Irish line out and you knew that if the ball was thrown correctly Paul was almost certain to get it and push forward.  Paul was very important in Irish team as they had one of the best rolling mauls in the world at one stage.  He was the master of the scrum and the line out. Paul position on the team was often onseen but always important  You could always rely on him for the line out or to make the smart decision when it came to big kicks that could change a game.

Paul moved to France to play for Toulon after he lest Munster  probably to get away from the hysterics of the Irish fans .  Toulon are a super club with a lot of money  and my feeling is that PauI may find it more difficult to secure a place  on the team.  But this was his choice and I hope that he makes the smart and right decision that will stand to him after he leaves rugby.

The 2 coaches that defined O Connell's carer were Declan Kidney for bringing him into both the Munster and Ireland teams and Joe Schmidt for bringing success to Irish rugby winning the 6 nations back to back and choosing him for  captain for Ireland .
The Irish fans will miss Paul O Connell as he was very popular and part of a great era of rugby in Ireland.

There was a lot of rucking and Apostol was at the back to score the try. But this was more to do with the quality of the pass for the Romanian number 10.
