FRIDAY
ULSTER 14-7 EDINBURGH
SCOLES TRY GIVES
ULSTER VITAL MOMENTUMN
The first score was a penalty try awarded when home
scrum-half Ruan Pienaar was prevented from scoring by Edinburgh's offside
skipper Mike Coman.
Winger Rory Scholes added a superb try from Louis Ludik's
lay-off and Paddy Jackson added his second conversion.
Edinburgh got back into it early in the second half through
South African back-row forward Cornell du Preez.
This says to me that Ulster have got the potential ito get
there acts together and chace that fourth spot
BLUES 20-16 CONNACHT
JAMES SCORES VITAL
TRY FOR BLUES AS CONNACHT HAVE A LOT STILL TO LEARN
Number eight Manoa Vosawai and wing Tom James scored tries,
with Rhys Patchell kicking 10 points.
A much-changed Connacht side led 13-10 at half-time after
tries by scrum-half Ian Porter and back-rower Eoin McKeon.
Blues hit back after the break and held out to inflict a
second defeat of the season on Connacht.
If Connacht are going to be any where near title contenders
this season they must have a better second string as the Irish coaches will now
look at the squad more and more. Pat Lam is showing that he is improving the
side a lot and the team are showing they are better than the sum of their
parts.
SATURDAY
TREVISO 20-22 SCARLETS
ALLEN DOUBLE GOVES
SCARLETS VITAL WIN
Steven Shingler's controversial 75th-minute penalty gave
Scarlets a narrow victory in Treviso to top the Pro12.
Number eight Morgan Allen crossed in either half on his
competitive debut while wing DTH van der Merwe scored their other try.
But a second try for Sam Christie 10 minutes from time,
following an opportunist effort by Edoardo Gori, threatened to derail Welsh
hopes.
The result takes the Scarlets ahead of Connacht at the top
of the table
I am not that sure whether for scarlet’s this is a good or a
bad result as they could only win against an Italian side but they are on top
of the table which shows they are getting better.
SUNDAY
DRAGONS 22-6 MUNSTER
LANDMAN TRY GIVES
DRAGONS VITAL WIN
Munster's Rory Scannell and Dragons' Dorian Jones landed two
penalties apiece in the opening period.
The hosts dominated the second half in which Jones added a
drop-goal and penalty before Landman scored and Jones converted.
Munster seem to be in a bit of trouble at the moment and
going into the Champions cup will not help as they are showing poor form and
Getting there Ireland players back seems to have made them worse not better.
ZEBRE 22-39 OSPREYS
TIPURIC DOUBLE GIVES
OSPREYS BONUS POINT
Justin Tipuric played a starring role as Ospreys claimed a
bonus-point win away to Zebre in the Pro12.
The Wales and Lions flanker scored two tries and had a hand
in two others as Ospreys underlined their improved form.
Jeff Hassler, Eli Walker and Jonathan Spratt scored the
other tries with Sam Davies kicking 14 points.
Zebre wing Kayle van Zyl crossed twice with scrum-half
Marcello Violi also scoring, but they were comprehensively outplayed.
Ospreys seem to be doing very well at the moment and seem
ready to take on the big chalange next week in European Rugby. If they can show
their pro 12 form in Europe maybe a big gun nmight fall in Europe in the next
couple of weeks.
Glasgow and Leinster
was washed out which might lay to fixture congestion because of European games
