O SPRAYS 26-15 BLUES
Neath Swansea Ospreys have now got the only 100 per cent
record in the Pro 12 with a 26-12 win over Cardiff Blues. Full Back Dan Evens
scored a try as well as scrum half Rhys Webb scoring but the credit has to go
to Dan Bigger who kicked 16 points in a near perfect display. Blues
replacements Lloyd Williams and Kirstan Davis scored tries at the end of the
match to give the Blues some respectability. Ospreys are definitely doing a lot
better than last year and look solid enough for a play-off place.
ZEBRE 10-24 LEINSTER
. Leinster found a way to get over the Munster defeat was an
unimpressive win over Zebre. Zebre are definitely getting better as you can see
from a result like this and the fact that they fear no one also helps in the
improvement they are having this year. From this result I thought the ulster
result was a fluke but from this they are definitely better.
At the start of the match Lucano Orquera put Zebre into a
lead. Luke Madagan then took control of this match scoring 13 points. His try was
a perfect dart through the Zebre defence and under the posts. Luke Mc Grath
scored a late try with Jimmy Gopperth scoring the conversion. Strauss threw in
a lie out in which Issac Boss went over the line but the television match official
ruled it out.
EDINBURGH 24-10 DRAGONS
Edinburgh got their season back on track yesterday with a
win over Welsh side the Dragons.. Alan Solons has probably feels very happy and
safe in his job at the moment after the rumours of him getting fired feel that
you should not fire someone so early in the season. Their number 8 Cornell Du
Preez will need surgery on his lower leg on 26 causing a bit of a delay while
he required treatment. This match is the type of match I feel that Edinburgh
need to win.
Heathcote scored 2 penalties to put Edinburgh in front at
the early stage of the match. Matthew Pewtner scored a try to put the dragons
briefly into the lead. The scrum was a disaster all day and referee Dudley
Phillips ran out of patience with John Andress and Boris Stankovich,
temporarily reducing both sides to 14 men.
The visitors shot
themselves in the foot when a poor clearing kick from Hallam Amos was charged
down by winger Visser and a kind bounce
set up a simple score under the posts, with Heathcote adding the extras try
from a Beeard gave a perfect pass and put Fife into the corner for the second try
which gave Edinburgh there second win of the pro 12 season.
TREVISO 6-9 CONNACHT
This was not the most interesting of matches between 2 sides
who definitely need improvements. 3 penalties from Craig Ronaldson was the
difference in this very dab encounter. Jaydon Harwood scored 2 penalties and at
half time the score was 6 points each. Connacht were able to just get away with
this but this still says to me that things need to be looked at. Treviso did
lead at the start of the match but Connacht were able to get ahead on the half
hour before Treviso got back just before half time. Treviso were disallowed a
try but Connacht Marimon and Trevisos Sam Christea got into a scuffle and
Ronaldson scored from that to give Connact the win.
MUNSTER 17-6 SCARLETS
Rhys Priestland gave Scarlets the lead but the try by Andrew
smith gave Muster the advantage at half time JJ Hanrahan got Muster out to a comfortable
lead by the end but Priestland could have kept the scarlts in the match but he missed
shots at goal
The Try was made by some movement between Ireland internationals
Connor Murray and Simon Zebo left Andrew Smith in at the corner. Hanarhan
missed his conversion which made the match interesting.
Munster have definitely shown that they are back to winning
ways and I can see them being the force they were as there are quality players
in their team.
