Standing at 6 foot 6 inches , and
18 stone Diack has brought a substantial physical presence to Ulster's back row
since joining the club at the start of the 2008/09 season from South African
franchise the Stormers.
He is an outstanding reader of
the game and has demonstrated his outstanding skill set from the base of the
scrum and in the loose. Initially signed as a Number 8, he has been more often
deployed as a blind-side in recent seasons.
He toured Georgia with
Emerging Ireland in the summer of 2013 and following a highly successful
2013/14 season, won his first senior cap for Ireland, against Argentina.
. He plays in the back row
mainly as a number eight. He signed for Ulster at the start of the 2008/2009. At 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 m) and weighing 110
kilograms (17 st), he is a smart and powerful player known for his ball
handling skills. In March 2013, Diack was called up to the Ireland squad for
the first time, having been selected for the 35 man training squad for the Six
Nations clash with France. He made his full Ireland début in the victory over
Argentina in June 2014.
