FINAL WARM UPS 07-09-15

SATURDAY

ENGLAND 21-13 IRELAND
IRELAND HAVE A FEW PROBLEMS THEY NEED TO FIX

England scored two early tries through wingers Jonny May and Anthony Watson to lead 12-3 at the break and though Ireland briefly got close with a Paul O'Connell try early in the second half, the hosts deservedly closed the game out with two Owen Farrell penalties

They showed more intensity after the restart as O'Connell led by example, burrowing over for their first try, which, after a penalty apiece earlier, made it 15-13.

England became a bit ragged, losing a scrum against the head, knocking on, missing overlaps and generally getting bogged down as both sides emptied their benches.

England's up-and-coming prospect Sam Burgess got 20 minutes and a second cap but the big centre was unable to make much of an impact other than one bone-shuddering tackle in the final exchanges.

After the TMO ruled out another England try they finally got the scoreboard moving again with a penalty by Farrell, who landed another three minutes from the end to settle it.

GEORGIA 10-13 JAPAN

WALES 23-19 ITALY
ITALY ARE DEFINITELY IMPROVING

Injuries to scrum-half Rhys Webb and full-back Leigh Halfpenny cast a shadow over Wales' World Cup preparations as they beat Italy 23-19 in Cardiff.

Webb twisted his left leg under pressure at a ruck, and underwent six minutes of treatment on the pitch.

Halfpenny turned his right knee in the 69th minute while trying to field a kick.

Leonardo Sarto and Lorenzo Palazzani scored Italy's tries, with George North touching down for Wales.

With a wales try from George North.  A performance like this does not look good for Wales but if |Italy are playing like this so early it does not look good for Ireland either

FRANCE 19-16 SCOTLAND
THIS SHOWS THE QUALITY AND RANDOMNESS OF FRANCE

A Noa Nakaitaci try denied Scotland their first win in Paris in 16 years in the teams' final World Cup warm-up.

Greig Laidlaw kicked the visitors to a half-time lead after Wesley Fofana had a try disallowed for a forward pass.

Scott Spedding's long-range kick edged France ahead but Tommy Seymour's pace got him on the end of Laidlaw's chip to cross the line.

France fought back and after David Denton was sin-binned, Nakaitaci found space to win it.

A result like this defines French rugby as you cannot be completely sure what French team will preform
