POOL 5 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS CUP 16-1-16

EXETER 31-19 ULSTER

CAMPENARO AND WALDRUM SHOW WHAT EXETER CAN DO

Michele Campagnaro and Thomas Waldrom both crossed twice for the hosts who retain a very slim mathematical chance of making the competition's last eight.

Exeter were also awarded a late penalty try as they picked up a bonus point.
Sean Reidy's try gave Ulster an early lead while the impressive Charles Piutau touched down in each half.
Ulster-born Exeter fly-half Gareth Steenson kicked three conversions, with Paddy Jackson adding the extra points to two of his side's tries.
Ulster deserved to get 2 point from this game and they got none. I do think that what happened against the scarlets last week effected them in a big way and I think that Ulster are out of the picture now for Europe but they have got the video now they need to look at it as they might drop down to being the worst team in Ireland
BORDEUX 6-9 CLERMOUNT

LOPEZ KICKS CLERMOUNT INTO QUARTERS

It wasn't pretty, but it was pretty effective as far as ASM Clermont Auvergne were concerned. Three penalties from the boot of Camille Lopez kicked them to victory and into the Champions Cup quarter-finals.

Clermount have shown in this match that they can get themselves out of a difficult situation when style is needed but as for Bordeux they will definitely see this as a missed opportunity as they will think that they could have given themselves a great chance at qualifying for the quarters.
