WASPS 32-6 TOLON
HUGHES DOUBLE GIVES WASPS BONUS POINT
Nathan Hughes scored two tries as Wasps secured a
bonus-point win over defending champions Toulon to move four points clear at
the top of Pool Five in the European Champions Cup.
Wasps scored twice in the first 10 minutes via Hughes and
Ruaridh Jackson.
Jackson and Elliot Daly added a penalty apiece with Jonathan
Pelissie landing two for Toulon, champions three years in a row, to make it
20-6 at half-time.
Further tries from Frank Halai and Hughes secured Wasps'
bonus point
As much as the win over Leinster was a good win for Wasps
Leinster are trying to sort out problems and the pro 12 might look different
this year. Toloun are the best team in Europe by a distance. This is a
brilliant win for wasps and I would be disappointed if they did not reach the
quarter finals.
CLERMOMNT AUVERGNE 34-29 OSPREYS
STRETTLE DOUBLE GIVES CLERMOUNT BONUS POINT
Ospreys scored two tries in the final two minutes to secure
two bonus points in their European Champions Cup defeat at Clermont Auvergne.
The home side opened a commanding 20-3 half-time lead with
tries from David Strettle and Aurelien Rougerie.
Tries from Justin Tipuric and Eli Walker put Ospreys back in
contention, before Strettle and Wesley Fofana scored to take Clermont clear
again.
But Ospreys salvaged bonus points when Sam Parry and Tom
Habberfield crossed.
Habberfield's try was a spectacular length of the field
effort in the final play of the game from the re-start following Parry's score
two minutes from time.
I think that this result says that there is not that much of
a gap between the money of the French League and the pro 12. I think that the
Osprey could be the Pro 12 team to reach the quarters
